在閱讀英語原版書或報(bào)刊雜志時(shí)，我們看到動(dòng)詞平行結(jié)構(gòu)、非謂語修飾成分以及“插入語”是幾種被大量使用的語法現(xiàn)象。今天我們來看一看托福寫作插入語表達(dá)的方式。

插入語是在一個(gè)句子中間插入一個(gè)詞、短語、從句或短句，這個(gè)插入成分通常被逗號、破折號或括號與其它部分隔開,且不與其它部分產(chǎn)生語法上的關(guān)系。換句話說，如果把插入內(nèi)容拿掉，句子結(jié)構(gòu)仍然完整。

插入句給人的感覺就是話講到一半，似乎突然想起了什么，有一種突然被中斷的感覺，然后插入一點(diǎn)內(nèi)容，講完立刻又接著原先的思路，嚴(yán)格按照原先的句法往下講。這種寫法有時(shí)是為了讓文章讀起來更好的節(jié)奏感，有時(shí)候是更好地反映作者當(dāng)下自然的思維狀態(tài)，除了表示思想上突然的中斷或轉(zhuǎn)移，插入成為與也可以表示附加的解釋、說明、總結(jié)等等。
