哥倫比亞大學(xué)位于溫哥華，溫哥華與亞洲和美國有著相當(dāng)緊密的關(guān)系，而美國更是加拿大的最大貿(mào)易伙伴。英屬哥倫比亞大學(xué)（許多華人稱之為卑詩大學(xué)）是加拿大著名的公立大學(xué)。它始建于1915年，位于英屬哥倫比亞省British Columbia的溫哥華市Vancouver，是英屬哥倫比亞省最早的大學(xué)，起初為研究性合作機(jī)構(gòu)，后來逐漸發(fā)展為綜合性大學(xué)。在不到100年的時間里，英屬哥倫比亞大學(xué)成為蜚聲全球的研究中心，擁有世界一流的具有藝術(shù)造型的設(shè)施，加上它位于氣候宜人、風(fēng)光如畫的溫哥華市，因此每年吸引了全世界眾多的學(xué)子前來就讀。UBC是世界最好的大學(xué)之一，2004年在學(xué)術(shù)及研究世界前500強(qiáng)大學(xué)中排名36位，UBC擁有150,000個來自世界131個國家的學(xué)生。
